3-paycheck months in 2026
If you're paid every two weeks, two months of 2026 will bring a third paycheck. Which two depends on just two things: the weekday you're paid and which of the two biweekly "cycles" you're on.

Why holiday paydays change the answer
January 1, 2027 is a Friday and New Year's Day. Many payroll systems pay that check on Thursday, December 31, 2026 instead. For the January 2 Friday cycle, that moves a check into December 2026, giving 2026 three 3-paycheck months (January, July, December) and 27 paydays, while January 2027 drops to two. Your pay stub dates from late December will show which way your employer handles it.

Which months have 3 paychecks in 2026 for Friday biweekly pay?
January and July if your first 2026 payday was January 2 (December too if the January 1, 2027 holiday check is paid on December 31). May and October if your first payday was January 9.
Are there 27 paychecks in 2026?
Only for some schedules. The Friday cycle that started January 2, 2026 gets 27 paydays if the January 1, 2027 holiday paycheck is paid on December 31, 2026. Every other weekday schedule has 26.
How do I know if I am on cycle A or cycle B?
Check the date of your first paycheck of the year. If it falls in the first week of January you are on cycle A; if it falls in the second week you are on cycle B. Or enter any payday into the free finder.
Do semimonthly paychecks have 3-paycheck months?
No. Semimonthly pay (for example the 15th and last day) is always exactly two checks a month and 24 a year.
